Progress Software Corp. shares were down 2% in after-hours trading Thursday after the company reported fiscal first-quarter earnings that beat Wall Street estimates. Progress Software reported net income of $21.1 million in the quarter, or 46 cents a share, compared with net income of $9.4 million, or 21 cents a share, in the year-ago first quarter. Revenue grew 22% to $109.7 million from $89.5 million a year ago. Analysts surveyed by FactSet had expected net income of 33 cents a share on sales of $112.1 million.
