TPI’s decision to temporarily reduce or suspend production at these manufacturing facilities is due primarily to certain applicable government-mandated stay at home orders in response to the COVID-19 pandemic which resulted in demands from its unions in Matamoros and Turkey to either stop or reduce production.

TPI Composites, Inc. Following an increase in COVID-19 cases in Jasper, Marshall, and Polk counties, as well as a significant number of positive cases in our plant in Newton, Iowa, and in collaboration with the State of Iowa, TPI proactively conducted mandatory COVID-19 testing for nearly all of its associates at its Newton facility on April 25, 2020. TPI Composites, Inc. (TPIC), the only independent manufacturer of composite wind blades with a global footprint, announced today that it will be collaborating with the State of Iowa on COVID-19 testing for its Newton, Iowa associates. As a result of the increase in COVID-19 levels in Jasper, Marshall, and Polk Counties, as well as 28 confirmed new cases during the last week among TPI Newton associates, TPI proactively reached out to the office of Iowa Governor, Kim Reynolds to discuss establishing an enhanced COVID-19 testing plan. TPI plans to voluntarily pause production at its Newton, Iowa manufacturing facility until the middle of next week in order to do another deep clean of the facility and to implement this more rigorous testing plan, which will include testing all Newton associates.
